Coaching children is a very rewarding experience and coaching your own child's team can be one of the most rewarding experiences of all! Coaches are pivotal to having children get the AYSO experience.
Are you a seasoned soccer player or coach? Great! Get out there and coach a team!
Do you have little or no experience with soccer? AYSO will teach you, based on the age level you are coaching. Unique age-appropriate coach training is one of AYSO's specialties. If you plan to be at your child's soccer practices and games, you'll also have time to be your child's coach.
To become an AYSO coach, you must be certified in the age level you are coaching. Certification takes three easy steps. First, fill out a volunteer form. Then either attend a short Safe Haven™ course in person or online. Lastly, you must attend a brief age-specific coaching course. It's only a few hours. We also have Coaching Manuals that help you with training plans and activities for the age you are coaching.
Coaching is a rewarding experience because you have the opportunity to build a child's self-esteem, help them learn new skills and just have a lot of fun. If you are interested in coaching, or would like more information about becoming a coach, please contact:

How to Register as a Volunteer if You Already Have an Account
For all parents that would like to volunteer for multiple positions, AYSO National Office is aware of the problems within the current registration process. Specifically, that in order to apply for multiple volunteer positions, a prospective volunteer needs to apply to each position individually.
AYSO National Office and Blue Sombrero are working together to fix this issue.
In the meantime, AYSO National Office has created a "workaround" for volunteers that are applying for multiple positions.
Essentially, a volunteer submits one application and eSigns it once. Then, after submitting, the volunteer can go back into the Blue Sombrero system and add in more volunteer positions.
Directions for this process can be found here.
Thank you for your patience and support during this transitional period
